NEW : WORKSHOP PROGRAM AVAILABLE (PDF)
Computer-based communication is one of the most fundamental changes in communication technology in the last 150 years. The proliferation of the personal computer combined with the Internet has precipitated far-reaching changes in society. Electronic communications and digital networks are transforming the way we work and the way we learn. However, since communication is at the heart of all forms of educational interaction, it is likely that its impact on education systems and individual teachers and learners will grow fast. In this context, e-learning is an all-encompassing term generally used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. It may include the use of web-based teaching materials and hypermedia in general, multimedia CD-ROMs or web sites, discussion boards, collaborative software, e-mail, blogs, wikis, computer aided assessment, educational animation, simulations, games, learning management software, electronic voting systems and more, with possibly a combination of different methods being used.
This workshop wants to offer an ideas exchange platform to all e-learning researchers and application companies.
