In an effort to increase its international focus, Carnegie Mellon has established educational and research partnerships with institutions around the world, such as Brazil, China, France, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Carnegie Mellon's graduate business school and the Carnegie Bosch Group, one of Germany's largest international corporations, formed the Carnegie Bosch Institute of Applied Studies in International Management to focus on international management issues.
The university recently formed a partnership with the Athens Information Technology Institute in Greece to offer a master's degree in information technology, and Carnegie Mellon's arts management program has joined three institutions in Italy to help restore and manage historical cultural sites in the country's Piedmont Region.
Carnegie Mellon architecture, engineering and ethics students are collaborating with students in Mexico and The Netherlands in classes being taught through long-distance learning technologies.
Carnegie Technology Education, a university spin-off company, has developed a 10-course certificate program in software development that is being offered to non-traditional students around the globe.
